Wear Purple for JIA
NRAS is delighted to announce that the #WearPurpleForJIA 2017 Campaign has chosen to support NRAS again as their charity for the year. Friday 9th June will be a day awash with purple everywhere and a great day to get young and old involved at home, school or work. Encourage friends and family to wear something purple, from socks to hats, and everything else in between!
The campaign, now in its third year, was launched by two mothers, Lynette and Sarah. This year Rachel Rennie is supporting the campaign with Lynette which will raise much needed funds for charities supporting children with JIA and their families. Equally as important, we hope #WearPurpleForJIA will help to raise awareness about the condition.
In 2016 Lynette nominated JIA-at-NRAS to benefit from the funds raised on the day and after a highly successful campaign has once again chosen to work alongside NRAS to promote and increase those getting involved with #WearPurpleForJIA.
#WearPurpleForJIA can be as simple as asking your school to support the day and let the children and staff come to school or nursery in purple mufti, this can also be replicated in the workplace to help raise awareness of JIA in young children.
The JIA service which was launched in 2014 is working hard to deliver new and exciting support packages for families with children with JIA and to help inform others about the effects this can have on children of all ages.
